Appearance

Jason is tall and muscular. He has a strong jawline and greenish hazel eyes that are usually intense and brooding. His brown hair hangs around his ears in a way that would prompt a normal person to get a haircut, and although he occasionally neglects his appearance, he would normally be considered attractive. He wears a thick traveling robe of dark, dusky purple, along with loose pants and an open-necked tunic. Although his clothes appear rustic by modern standards, they are actually unnaturally strong and seem to have self-repairing capabilities.

Personality

Jason exudes an aura that would cause most people to keep their distance. He doesn't trust anyone besides Charaustra, and he makes it known that he has no intention of being friendly or polite to others. The adjectives brooding, distant, and contemptuous would describe him well. He is also very driven to serve the good of the universe, however, and so he is constantly accepting quests and missions. He is a man of contradictions, none of which truly make sense unless you understand where he is coming from. Unfortunately, he would be the last person to tell you about his life, so most of the time he is viewed as irritatingly superior and cold. He is jaded and angry at the universe, but for some reason, he soldiers on through his journeys.

History

Jason was born on an Earth in an alternate dimension, a resident of England, and the son of a well-to-do family. Unfortunately, he was very under appreciated and constantly under stress from trying to hold his household together. He never handled stress well, and he was plagued by intense migraine headaches, which he still suffers from. One fateful night approximately ten Earth years ago, he was going through archaeological artifacts from his parents' most recent vacation when he came across one particular black amulet. While wishing to leave his current situation, he accidentally activated the amulet, and it phased him into another dimension, onto a space station.

Jason, at this time, was enthusiastic and excited by being in a wondrous, new place, and he quickly made friends with many different people on the station. It was here that he bonded with Charaustra, and together, they completed a dangerous mission on a planet called L'mdana. After that mission, the gods of L'mdana rewarded them by granting them back Jason's original amulet, which had previously been taken for study by scientists on the space station, and giving Jason and Charaustra the power to control their phases into other dimensions. In the years since, the duo has been traveling from dimension to dimension, location to location, and timeline to timeline, helping right the universe where they can and often getting involved in complicated situations in the process.

After being severely injured countless times, subjected to stresses far above what a normal person should suffer, and constantly encountering the universal evils of greed, betrayal, and cruelty, Jason has, understandably, hardened his heart to protect himself. As the saying goes, "If you expect the worse from people, you can never be disappointed." He and Charaustra recently phased into the same place as Cammie and Mercury, which was not where they were intending to land; therefore, it was doubtlessly some grand design of the universe. Now, Jason must discover why he and Charaustra have been sent there... the sooner the better, as far as he is concerned.

Bondmate Relationship

Jason and Charaustra's relationship is based very much on their similarities and common sufferings. Like his Glass dragon companion, Jason has the tendency to bottle up his feelings until, under extreme stress, he completely snaps and has episodes of rage and depression, which negatively impact his health. He is smooth and calm on the surface, but he can be shattered if the right stresses are applied. Combined with Charaustra, this could make a dangerous combination, but usually, he is calm and collected when Char is violent and uncontrolled, and vice versa. Any stress on either party affects the other deeply, however, and their shared pain strengthens their bond. In the past, Jason has had a few battles with Charaustra as their temperaments clash. These fights are very telling on both of them, and there are fractures in their relationship that are still healing. In the end, Jason loves Charaustra deeply, even with her obvious flaws in personality, and he cares about her more than anyone else. He would sacrifice anything to keep her safe.
