Star

Estelle, or, as most people call her, Star, is a free spirit. She ran away from home when she was thirteen and never looked back. She has made her home in the city, staying with friendly people in the occult community. Her most recent home was a room in an apartment with a circle of pagans. She had a bad run-in with a vampire there, and she moved out. Just recently, she accepted an offer of a room in Franklin's apartment.

Star is petite and almost wispy, and her small frame is only accented by her poor nutrition. Her long, dark hair is almost always flowing around her shoulders with sections tied up into braids and tails with pieces of string or ribbon. Her skin is fairly light, but it shows influence from another background, though whether it is Asian, Latin, or Native in origin, she can't say. Her clothes are well worn but usually clean, and they are rather eclectic, having been dug out of bins at homeless shelters and thrift stores. Her favorite outfits always involve large skirts, shorts, tank tops, and billowing blouses, sometimes all at once. Shoes are an ongoing problem for her, so she settles for a set of sandals most days.

She is difficult to pin down as far as personality goes. She strikes many people as crazy or a bit off. She usually is very flighty and uninterested in what is going on around her. She tends to cause scenes a lot by doing something odd like bathing in a fountain or talking to pigeons. Sometimes, she does these things simply for the reactions she receives. Other times, she doesn't realize what a reaction she will cause. She is, at best, eccentric. She is fairly even tempered, and she does not tend to start fights or shout. In fact, if it weren't for her odd appearance and actions, she would probably be overlooked most of the time.

Star is often found in the company of three dogs, who are uncanny in their intelligence. They act as her protection at night, but during the day, they disappear off into the city and beyond. Star often talks to them, which again, can cause scenes. Despite the fact that Animal Control has been called several times, no one can catch them. The dogs have an odd knack for disappearing suddenly. They are Star's only true friends, and although she may sometimes lecture them, she would be heartbroken if they ever left. Luckily, they aren't going anywhere. They are bound to her. But, that is a story for another page. ;)

Star is at a very odd point in her life. She learned about her supposed skills as an Oracle only two years ago, and she doesn't believe a word of it. She has never heard anything from any god or goddess, and she has never been able to tell the future. As far as she is concerned, the Immortals are dead wrong. But there are a few things in her life that she cannot explain, like the strange things she sometimes sees creeping through the dark or sitting under trees in the park. Or the way people in the occult community seem to recognize her or afford her respect she has done nothing to deserve. She is on the verge of discovering her abilities, but it is also a dangerous time. With no training and few to protect her, she is very vulnerable to attack. Hopefully, her deity is looking out for her...
